Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do you do?

I am a therapist and coach who helps people manage and recover from chronic pain, stress, and burnout — using the science-backed strategies that we know to work. My work blends pain psychology with common sense to help your body unlearn pain signals and rebuild safety from the inside out.

What is Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)?

Pain Reprocessing Therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps you retrain your brain’s perception of pain. As you learn to interpret body sensations differently and teach your body that you are safe, pain and other chronic symptoms often decrease or disappear.

What is neuroplastic or neurophysiological pain?

Neuroplastic or neurophysiological pain is pain that isn’t caused by ongoing tissue damage, but by a habit in your nervous system itself. Think of it like a big misunderstanding. Your brain and nerves are interpreting normal sensations in the body as threatening, and sending you danger signals (as pain, fatigue, brain fog, neausea, etc.)—even when nothing is actually wrong.

This type of pain is very common in chronic back pain, neck pain, migraines, fibromyalgia, and lots more. In fact, once pain has become chronic, this is usually at least part of what’s going on. The good news? Because it’s rooted in the nervous system, and not permanent damage, the brain can be retrained. That’s exactly what we’ll do in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and chronic pain coaching.

Can this help with other symptoms like fatigue, nausea, brain fog, or itching?

Yes. Many of the same nervous system patterns that cause chronic pain also trigger other persistent symptoms

  • Fatigue

  • Nausea or digestive discomfort

  • Brain fog or cognitive fatigue

  • Itching or tingling

  • even Moods, like depression, anxiety and (definitely) panic

Besides pain, the nervous system uses a number of other sensations to communicate that we are in danger.

How is therapy different from coaching?

Therapy is great for people with a mental health diagnosis. It focuses on exploring your past, healing trauma, and managing symptoms that decrease your mood and functioning. Coaching, on the other hand, is future-focused, action-oriented, and practical. My men’s chronic pain coaching is for guys who want direct tools and accountability to get out of chronic pain loops and back into life. We can assess medical necessity If you’re not sure which you qualify for, don’t worry—we’ll figure that out together in a free consultation.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults over the age of 18, both genders. After spending a large portion of my career serving women, I am currently creating a program for successful men (executives, business owners, first responders, and dads) who’ve pushed through pain at work for years. You don’t need to be “spiritual” or “into therapy” to benefit from this work. If you’re driven, intelligent, and sick of feeling trapped in your own body, you’re my kind of client.

Can you help if I live outside of Texas?

Yes. I offer coaching nationwide and therapy within Texas and California. Coaching clients can work with me from anywhere in the U.S. or internationally. Therapy clients must reside in TX or CA for licensing reasons. Either way, we meet online.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, I’m not a medical doctor and I don’t prescribe. However, I often collaborate with pain specialists, psychiatrists, and medical providers if a multidisciplinary plan makes sense. My focus is helping you reduce pain naturally through nervous system regulation, education, and mind-body connection.

Does this actually work?

Yes!! I wouldn’t do this if it didn’t. Research shows Pain Reprocessing Therapy and related mind-body approaches are exactly what is indicated when coping with persistent pain conditions. But more importantly to me, my clients see real results.
